Luna Guitars have some of the most stylized looking guitars in the market, so much so that their instruments have become easily identifiable. Their sense of style also applies to their small bodied acoustic instruments, including the Heartsong Parlor. In addition to being cosmetically pleasing, this particular parlor guitar comes with built-in electronics that allow for direct recording, a fitting feature given its name.

As the name implies, the Heartsong Parlor is all about getting your “heart song” out, it was part of Luna’s response to players who asked them to create an acoustic guitar that will help in their creative process. In addition to inspiring you to write songs, this guitar is meant to help you capture ideas as quickly and conveniently as possible – by allowing you to record your ideas directly to a computer.

While we can always record fast via a cheap mic, capturing ideas as clearly as possible can often spell the difference between inspired and uninspired – so Luna worked with Fishman to develop for them a plug-and-play USB system that can automatically convert your guitar signal to digital format for direct recording. This means that the Luna Heartsong Parlor comes with a built-in audio interface that simplifies the recording process, be it for capturing ideas, or for actual recording of guitar parts.

As expected, it’s not just about electronics, because this one features select spruce top and mahogany back and sides, a staple configuration that’s familiar to many guitarists. It has a mahogany neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard that joins the body at the 14th fret. Scale length is standard at 25.5″, nut width is 1 11/16″ and fingerboard radius is 14″.

Other features include die-cast tuners, rosewood bridge and wood binding. The most standout cosmetic feature of this guitar is its treble/bass clef inlaid mahogany and lacewood rosette. The pearloid fingerboard design is also inspired by musical notation – hopefully to get you to write potential hit songs.
